GLP Japan To Develop Large Logistics Facility in Ome, Tokyo

GLP Japan To Develop Large Logistics Facility in Ome, Tokyo

GLP Japan will develop Marq Ome, a large-scale multitenant logistics facility, in Imai, Ome City, Tokyo. The property will have a gross floor area of about 55,660 tsubo (approx. 1,980,600 sq. ft.). Construction is scheduled to start in February 2027, with completion planned for March 2029.

The facility will be located about 0.5 kilometers from the Ome Interchange on the Ken-O Expressway and about 2.9 kilometers from National Route 16. The location can serve not only the entire Tokyo metropolitan area but also the Tokai, Tohoku and Hokuriku regions, with about 55 million people reachable within a four-hour delivery radius from the facility.

The building will be a four-story multitenant logistics facility with dual rampways. Space will be available for lease from small units of about 700 tsubo (approx. 24,900 sq. ft.), and the facility can accommodate up to 42 tenants. The first and second floors will feature low-floor truck berths, while the first floor will have a floor load capacity of 2 metric tons per square meter to meet heavy-load requirements for goods such as food and beverages. The second through fourth floors will include areas compatible with vehicle parking, allowing tenant companies to register the premises as sales offices. The warehouse space is also designed with potential use as factory space in mind.

Marq is a global logistics real estate brand launched in December 2025 by Ares Management Corp., the parent company of GLP Japan. GLP Japan plans to rename its existing properties from GLP to Marq around summer 2026. In May 2026, the company started construction on Marq Matsubara in Matsubara, Osaka Prefecture, as development under the brand moves forward.(see related article:Japan GLP Breaks Ground on Logistics Facility With About 5,700 Tsubo of GFA in Matsubara
