San Mark Holdings Relocates Headquarters From Okayama to Kyoto

San Mark Holdings relocated its headquarters to the Kyoto Mitsui Building in Shimogyo Ward, Kyoto, on May 11, 2026, and began operations there the same day as its Kyoto headquarters. Its former headquarters was located in Kita Ward, Okayama, and will continue to operate as the Okayama Office following the relocation.

The relocation destination, the Kyoto Mitsui Building, is a large office building located at the Shijo-Karasuma intersection, in one of central Kyoto’s major business and commercial districts. The building was completed in 1984 and renovated in 2005. It has eight above-ground floors and one basement level, with a typical floor plate of about 619 tsubo (approx. 67,600 sq. ft.). The Kyoto headquarters occupies the fourth floor of the building, with a leased area of about 370 tsubo (approx. 40,400 sq. ft.) and a workforce of about 200 people.

The company has been expanding its business operations with Kyoto as a strategic base. In December 2022, it brought Kyoto’s well-known coffee shop Kissamadrague under its umbrella, and in November 2025, it acquired Kyoto Katsugyu, a gyukatsu specialty restaurant brand positioned to capture strong inbound tourism demand. Near the Kyoto headquarters, the company also plans to establish a kitchen for product development and photo shoots, as well as an experimental store where development-stage menu items will be offered to visitors. Through these initiatives, San Mark aims to strengthen its global expansion and domestic store rollout by leveraging the Kyoto brand.
