JR Central Group's First Private Real Estate Fund Acquires Office Building Near Nagoya Station

JRC Fund No. 1 Godo Kaisha acquired Shin-Sasashima Building, an office building in Meieki-Minami 1-chome, Nakamura Ward, Nagoya City, from JR Tokai Real Estate Co., Ltd. in March 2026.

The property is located a five-minute walk from Meitetsu Nagoya Station on the Meitetsu Nagoya Main Line and a nine-minute walk from Nagoya Station on JR lines. The building has eight above-ground floors and one basement level, was completed in 1994, and has a Gross Floor Area of approximately 772 tsubo (approx. 27,500 sq. ft.).

JRC Fund No. 1 is the first real estate private fund established by the JR Central Group, formed by Central Japan Railway Company (JR Central) and JR Tokai Real Estate, and was established in March 2026. It has an asset scale of approximately JPY 2.1 billion and an investment period of approximately three years. As the group's first fund, this deal aims to accumulate know-how in fund formation and management.

Shin-Sasashima Building is one of four office buildings in Nagoya City that JR Tokai Real Estate acquired in 2002. By transferring a property it had held for approximately 24 years to a private fund, the JR Central Group has added a new holding and management approach to its real estate business.
