Daiwa House Industry to Break Ground on DPL Ibaraki II Logistics Facility

Daiwa House Industry Co., Ltd. will break ground on DPL Ibaraki II, a multi-tenant logistics facility in Matsushita-cho, Ibaraki City, Osaka Prefecture, on August 18, 2026. The project owner is Ibaraki Matsushita Development Tokutei Mokuteki Kaisha, wholly owned by Daiwa House Industry. Completion is scheduled for January 14, 2028.

The facility will be four stories above ground with a gross floor area of approximately 9,452 tsubo (approx. 336,400 sq. ft.) and can accommodate up to two tenants. The first floor will feature double-sided loading berths allowing trucks to dock from both sides of the building, along with freight elevators and vertical conveyors.

The facility is located approximately 1 km from the "Ibaraki IC" interchange on the Meishin Expressway, about a 20-minute drive from Osaka International Airport and about 50 minutes from the Port of Osaka. It is also about a 30-minute drive from both the "Kyoto Minami IC" and "Nishinomiya IC" interchanges, making it a location suited to wide-area distribution across the Kansai region. Logistics facilities in Ibaraki City have increased approximately 5.1 times on a gross floor area basis over the past decade, reaching approximately 746,000 tsubo (approx. 26,547,000 sq. ft.) as of 2026 (estie Logistics Research, editorial team analysis).

In September 2014, Daiwa House Industry acquired approximately 120,000 sq. m of the former site of Panasonic's Ibaraki plant, which had produced televisions, and began developing a logistics town comprising three logistics facilities. The company has so far developed two build-to-suit logistics facilities, including Yamato Transport's "Kansai Gateway," and DPL Ibaraki II will be the final development on the former plant site.
