Mitsui Fudosan Signs Ascott for Top Floors of YAESU CORE
Oakwood Premier YAESU CORE Tokyo will open in 2029 at YAESU CORE, a redevelopment project at the Yaesu exit of Tokyo Station that Mitsui Fudosan is advancing as a participating association member. Mitsui Fudosan Residential and Ascott have agreed on Ascott's occupancy. It will be the fifth joint project in Japan between Ascott and the Mitsui Fudosan Group.
The hotel will occupy floors 40 through 43, the highest floors of YAESU CORE. It will have 184 guest rooms in four types, ranging from Studio to 3BED, with workspaces, kitchens and washing machines to accommodate long-term stays. The 40th floor, which will serve as the lobby floor, will house a lounge, a restaurant and a fitness room, and the restaurant will also be open to non-guests.
YAESU CORE is the facility name for the Yaesu 2-Chome Central District Category 1 Urban Redevelopment Project, in which Mitsui Fudosan, Kajima Corp., Sumitomo Realty & Development, the Urban Renaissance Agency and Hankyu Hanshin Properties are participating as association members. It will house offices, retail facilities, a theater and a bus terminal, among other uses, and is scheduled for completion at the end of January 2029.
Redevelopment around Tokyo Station continues to attract luxury hotels. In Tokyo Midtown Yaesu, also in Yaesu 2-chome, Bulgari Hotel Tokyo opened on floors 40 through 45 in April 2023. In Torch Tower, Dorchester Collection is scheduled to open on floors 53 through 58 in fiscal 2028, marking its first entry into Asia.
