Hankyu Hanshin Properties will acquire the large-scale retail complex “Deli Park Mall” in Medan, North Sumatra, Indonesia in January 2026. This marks the company’s third retail investment in the country, following two properties currently held in West Jakarta.
The mall is located in central Medan, adjacent to Medan Station. It has a Gross Floor Area of approximately 35,000 tsubo (approx. 115,000 sq. ft.) and is a 7-story building with 2 basement levels, completed in 2019. The property hosts around 200 tenants.
Deli Park Mall forms part of the large-scale mixed-use development “Podomoro City Deli Medan,” which integrates office towers, a university, and residential units. The master-planned project is being developed by local developer Agung Podomoro Land Group, with a total site area of 5.2 hectares and plans for 2,730 residential units.
In Indonesia, the middle class and near-middle-class population accounts for 66.35% of the total and is responsible for 81.49% of household consumption. Supported by this strong population and consumption base, urban retail facilities are expected to see continued growth in customer demand.
