Open House Real Estate Acquires “HK Asakusa Building,” a Retail Property in Asakusa, Taito Ward

Open House Real Estate Co., Ltd. has acquired a retail building, “HK Asakusa Building,” located in Asakusa 1-chome, Taito Ward, Tokyo. The seller is Honke Kamadoya Co., Ltd., which operates the bento chain Honke Kamadoya.

The property is located a one-minute walk from Asakusa Station on the Tobu Railway. Completed in April 1980, the building is of SRC construction, with nine floors above ground and one basement level, and has a gross floor area of approximately 595 tsubo (approx. 21,180 sq. ft.). Situated near Senso-ji Temple and Nakamise Street, the property lies in the heart of the Asakusa tourism district, within walking distance of Kaminarimon Gate.

The Asakusa area has been experiencing strong momentum driven by the full recovery of inbound tourism. The number of inbound visitors to Japan reached a record 36.87 million in 2024, while 4.42 million foreign tourists visited Taito Ward, which includes Asakusa. In the 2025 official land price assessment, Kaminarimon Street recorded a 29.0% year-on-year increase, the highest growth rate in Tokyo. Against this backdrop, new openings of restaurants and hotels have been active, further enhancing the area’s appeal as a commercial investment destination. The Open House Group has been actively acquiring income-producing properties in central Tokyo, and this acquisition is viewed as part of that broader strategy.
