MonotaRO to Relocate Tokyo Office to Akasaka Trust Tower in April 2026

MonotaRO Co., Ltd., a leading Japanese e-commerce platform for indirect materials, has announced the relocation of its Tokyo office to the 5th floor of Akasaka Trust Tower in Minato-ku’s Akasaka 2-chome district, effective April 2026. Amid ongoing business expansion and continuous hiring, the move aims to foster cross-departmental collaboration and creativity.

Recognized as a Certified Health & Productivity Management Organization (Large Enterprise Category) for two consecutive years, MonotaRO plans to leverage the tower’s green spaces and diverse common areas to enhance employee well-being and maximize corporate value.

Akasaka Trust Tower is a newly completed high-rise complex with direct access to Tameike-sanno and Kokkai-gijidomae Stations. The 43-story tower with three basement levels offers a gross floor area of approximately 66,500 tsubo (approx. 219,835 sq. ft.). Office specifications include standard floor plates of approx. 1,025 tsubo (approx. 33,884 sq. ft.), ceiling heights of 2,900mm, 100mm raised floors, and individually controlled air-conditioning via a water-source heat pump system. The building also features 33 high-speed elevators (5 office shuttles and 28 local lifts).

Founded in October 2000, MonotaRO is headquartered in JP Tower Osaka and serves 10.42 million registered e-commerce users with a catalog of approximately 24.2 million items. For the first quarter of FY2025, the company reported a 14.4% year-on-year increase in net sales to JPY 79.1 billion. With around 710,000 SKUs eligible for same-day shipping and 640,000 items held in stock at its own logistics centers, the company continues to strengthen its fulfillment capabilities while expanding market share.

The move from its current office in Akasaka Nakanishi Building (approx. 152 tsubo per floor, or approx. 5,025 sq. ft.) will expand the company’s Tokyo footprint nearly sevenfold. The new location will also support intensified hiring efforts in the capital region and broaden customer engagement.
