Sumitomo Corporation Acquires “Nasta Building” Office Property in Nihonbashi, Tokyo
Sumitomo Corporation has acquired the office building Nasta Building, located in Nihonbashi-Tomizawacho, Chuo Ward, Tokyo. The seller was Vortex Co., Ltd., which sold the property just one month after acquiring it from the previous owner in August.
The property is an eight-story building with one basement level, of steel-reinforced concrete (SRC) construction. It was completed in December 1988 and has a gross floor area of approximately 475 tsubo (approx. 17,050 sq. ft.). The building is located a two-minute walk from Bakuro-Yokoyama Station on the Toei Shinjuku Line and a three-minute walk from Kodemmacho Station on the Tokyo Metro Hibiya Line.
The building name, Nasta Building, was derived from the former owner LIVNEX Co., Ltd. (formerly Kyowa Nasta), which named the property after its previous corporate name. LIVNEX is a building materials manufacturer with the leading market share in mailboxes and parcel lockers in Japan and used the building as its headquarters for 27 years starting in 1998. Since 2017, the company has gradually relocated its headquarters functions to Minami-Aoyama, Minato Ward, and in August 2025 consolidated its sales and DX divisions into a new base in Oimachi, Shinagawa Ward. The sale of the company-owned building was positioned as part of its work-style reform initiatives and business structure transformation.
Vortex typically renovates office buildings and sells them on a unit-by-unit basis under its “VORT” brand; however, in this case, the property was sold as a whole building to Sumitomo Corporation. Sumitomo Corporation develops and sells four to five mid-sized office buildings annually under its “PREX” series and has also entered the renovation business for older office buildings. This acquisition may similarly be aimed at a future value-add renovation followed by resale as part of the PREX series.
