Sankei Building Starts Construction on Cold Storage Logistics Facility in Matsudo, Chiba Prefecture

Sankei Building began construction in June 2026 on the tentatively named SANKEILOGI Matsudo, a logistics facility in Kamihongo, Matsudo City, Chiba Prefecture. Completion is scheduled for the end of August 2027. The project will be the company’s third temperature-controlled logistics facility, following the tentatively named SANKEILOGI Kasukabe and the tentatively named Chiba City Mihama Ward Shinminato Logistics Facility Plan.

The facility will be a multi-tenant logistics property consisting of two buildings: a frozen and refrigerated building and a dry warehouse building. It will support three temperature zones: frozen, refrigerated and ambient. The frozen and refrigerated building is planned to be divisible for up to two tenants, while the dry warehouse building is planned to be divisible for up to three tenants. The facility will also include a cafeteria and driver lounge, reflecting consideration for the working environment.

The development site is located in the Kita-Matsudo Industrial Park, about 3.7 kilometers from the Misato-minami interchange on the Tokyo Gaikan Expressway and about 4.8 kilometers from the Matsudo interchange. It is also an eight-minute walk from Kita-Matsudo Station on the JR Joban Line, offering convenience for labor access in addition to distribution across the greater Tokyo area.

The company has been developing logistics facilities since completing a logistics property in Minoh City, Osaka Prefecture, in June 2021, and has developed 12 properties including joint projects and renovation projects. In Matsudo City, Tokyu Land’s tentatively named LOGI’Q Matsudo (Frozen and Refrigerated) is also scheduled for completion at the end of May 2028. Against the backdrop of rising demand for cold-chain logistics in recent years, development is moving forward on temperature-controlled logistics facilities designed to serve deliveries across the Tokyo metropolitan area.
