Ascott Opens Citadines North Shinjuku Tokyo in Hyakunincho
Ascott opened Citadines North Shinjuku Tokyo in Hyakunincho, Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo, on October 28, 2026. It is the fourth Citadines property in Japan, following Citadines Shinjuku Tokyo, Citadines Harbour Front Yokohama and Citadines Namba Osaka. The property is operated by Ascott Japan, the company's operating company in Japan.
The facility appears to be a renovation of the ORIX Group's Hundred Stay Tokyo Shinjuku, which closed in August 2025. In June 2025, CapitaLand Investment, Ascott's parent company, announced that it had acquired the building for more than JPY 30 billion through funds and other vehicles it manages and planned to convert the hotel and residential portions into serviced residences.
The facility is located on Otakibashi-dori Avenue, a three-minute walk from Okubo Station on the JR Chuo-Sobu Line. The hotel has 106 guest rooms, and together with 73 serviced residence units scheduled to open in March 2027, it will have a total of 179 units. The hotel rooms come in 10 types, ranging from studios of 25 sq. m (approx. 300 sq. ft.) to family rooms that can accommodate up to six guests, and some room types are equipped with full kitchens and washer-dryers. The building features a 24-hour fitness gym, a self-service laundry room and a lounge, and a cafe has opened on the first floor.
Based in Singapore, Ascott operates lodging facilities in more than 230 cities in over 40 countries. Around Tokyo Station, Oakwood Premier YAESU CORE Tokyo is scheduled to open in 2029 on the top floors of YAESU CORE in the Yaesu 2-Chome Central District, and SEN/KA TOKYO by The Crest Collection is set to open in the Yaesu 1-Chome North District redevelopment.
