Mitsubishi Corporation Urban Development, Haseko Complete Neighborhood Retail Facility in Kamakura

Mitsubishi Corporation Urban Development and Haseko Corporation completed MCUD・HASEKO Retail Kamakura Kajiwara, a neighborhood shopping center the two companies had been developing in Kajiwara, Kamakura City, Kanagawa Prefecture, on July 31, 2026. The community-oriented retail facility is anchored by a supermarket and a home center, with stores opening sequentially from late August.
The facility is located a twelve-minute walk from Shonan-Fukasawa Station on the Shonan Monorail. The building has two above-ground floors, with a Gross Floor Area of approximately 3,600 tsubo (approx. 128,100 sq. ft.). Tenants include home center Cainz, supermarket Life, buyback specialty store Kaitori Daikichi, and a dental and orthodontic clinic.
To the north of the facility, the Urban Renaissance Agency (UR) is advancing the Muraoka-Fukasawa District Land Readjustment Project. A new station on the JR Tokaido Line — the first in 107 years — tentatively named Muraoka Shin-Eki (New Muraoka Station), is scheduled to open in 2032. The facility is located within approximately 1 km of the planned new station site, close to both existing residential areas and the future development area.
Haseko Corporation acquired the former Chugai Pharmaceutical factory site, which includes the project site, in 2022, and Mitsubishi Corporation Urban Development subsequently acquired a portion of the site; the two companies jointly developed the facility. The two companies are also jointly developing a neighborhood retail facility on the former Seiyu Kotesashi store site in Kotesashi, Tokorozawa City, Saitama Prefecture, with completion scheduled for autumn 2026 (see related article: Mitsubishi Corporation Urban Development, Haseko Break Ground on Retail Project in Tokorozawa).
