Capella To Make Tokyo Debut in Nishi-Azabu 3-Chome Redevelopment by Nomura Real Estate

Capella Hotels and Resorts, the Singapore-based luxury hotel brand, will make its Tokyo debut in the Nishi-Azabu 3-Chome Northeast District Type 1 Urban Redevelopment Project, in which Nomura Real Estate is participating as a participating association member. The hotel will be named Capella Tokyo and is scheduled to open in fiscal 2030.

Capella Tokyo will be located on the upper floors of a 54-story building and will have 86 rooms, including suites. Approximately 500 residential units in the same building are planned to have dedicated staff provided by Capella and offer services coordinated with the hotel. Capella is a luxury brand that operates 10 hotels, mainly in the Asia-Pacific region. In March 2026, it opened Capella Kyoto, its first property in Japan.

The redevelopment project is a large-scale mixed-use development underway on an approximately 1.6-hectare site adjacent to the west side of Roppongi Hills. Block A, where the hotel will be located, will include a 54-story high-rise tower with a Gross Floor Area of approximately 29,200 tsubo (approx. 1,039,100 sq. ft.), and will contain residential units, a hotel, retail facilities and offices. The surrounding area is also seeing improvements, including the widening of Auxiliary Road No. 10, also known as TV Asahi-dori Avenue, as well as the development of pedestrian decks and plazas. Construction on Block A is scheduled to be completed in December 2029.
