Yasuda Real Estate To Convert Two Buildings in Nihonbashi-Hamacho Into Hotel

Yasuda Real Estate To Convert Two Buildings in Nihonbashi-Hamacho Into Hotel

Yasuda Real Estate has started renovation work on the tentatively named Nihonbashi-Hamacho 311 and 312 Hotel Renovation Project in Nihonbashi-Hamacho 3-chome, Chuo Ward, Tokyo. The plan calls for converting and renovating two adjacent existing buildings and repositioning them as a single small luxury hotel. The hotel will be operated by Suisei, with opening scheduled for spring 2027.

The project site is located on a corner lot a four-minute walk from Suitengumae Station on the Tokyo Metro Hanzomon Line and close to Tokyo City Air Terminal. The tentatively named Nihonbashi-Hamacho 311 Hotel Renovation Project is a seven-story building with a Gross Floor Area of approximately 247 tsubo (approx. 8,800 sq. ft.). Yasuda Real Estate acquired the office building from Nippon Mycella in February 2023. Nippon Mycella is engaged in the import and wholesale of natural cheese and had its headquarters in the building. The tentatively named Nihonbashi-Hamacho 312 Hotel Renovation Project has seven floors above ground and one basement level, with a Gross Floor Area of approximately 338 tsubo (approx. 12,000 sq. ft.). Yasuda Real Estate acquired the residential building from an individual in September 2023. The two buildings are expected to have a total of 19 guestrooms.

Yasuda Real Estate has a track record of numerous developments in Nihonbashi-Hamacho. In addition to large-scale buildings such as Nihonbashi-Hamacho F Tower, completed in 1997, and Tornare Nihonbashi-Hamacho, completed in 2005, the company has developed small- and midsize street-level retail properties and hotels since 2015. Suisei was founded in 2015 and is engaged in hotel development and operations, as well as its own booking platform business. The company specializes in experiential hotel development that incorporates local context and has developed small- and midsize hotels in Kanazawa, Kyoto and other cities. In this project, Yasuda Real Estate will combine the development and placemaking expertise it has built up in Nihonbashi-Hamacho with Suisei’s hotel planning and operations expertise to create a lodging base that makes use of existing buildings.
