Sun Frontier Fudousan Opens Residence Hotel in Shijo-Kawaramachi, Kyoto
Sun Frontier Fudousan has opened a new residence-style hotel, STITCH HOTEL Kyoto, on June 30, 2025, through a collaboration between its hotel subsidiary Sun Frontier Hotel Management and BARE NOTE STUDIO. The property aims to cater to group and extended-stay travelers in Kyoto’s prime Shijo-Kawaramachi area.
Located just a 1-minute walk from Hankyu Kyoto Line’s Kyoto-Kawaramachi Station and a 2-minute walk from Keihan Main Line’s Gion-Shijo Station, the hotel benefits from a scenic location along the Takase River and close proximity to both tourist attractions and retail hubs.
The five-story building offers approximately 1,343 sqm (approx. 14,456 sq. ft.) of gross floor area, and all 16 rooms are over 50 sqm (approx. 538 sq. ft.), suite-type units featuring kitchens and washer-dryers to support long-term stays of up to six guests. The interior design blends mid-century modern aesthetics with Kyoto’s traditional sensibilities. The building itself is a repositioned and upgraded former business hotel (Hotel Shusenkaku), now enhanced for greater value and comfort.
As part of the opening campaign, guests are offered complimentary access to the rooftop open-air bath at the group’s nearby Sora-niwa Terrace Kyoto, just a minute’s walk away. The hotel also features a lounge on the ground floor with a premium coffee machine, further enhancing the guest experience. In addition, it partners with Hiyori Stay Kyoto Kamogawa to build a distinctive and integrated stay concept across properties.
