Star Mica Acquires Apartment Building a Seven-Minute Walk From Nakano Station

Star Mica has acquired ALERO Nakano, a rental apartment building in Nakano Ward, Tokyo. The seller was Kyoei Co., Ltd.

The property is located a seven-minute walk from Nakano Station on the JR Chuo Line and Tokyo Metro Tozai Line. Completed in August 2017, it is a four-story reinforced concrete building with a total of 18 units. Gross Floor Area is approximately 198 tsubo (approx. 7,039 sq. ft.). “ALERO” is a series of urban designer apartment buildings developed by Uni-Asia Capital, characterized by exposed concrete exteriors. The series has supplied more than 60 buildings to date, primarily in the Greater Tokyo area, and targets single-person and DINK households.

Star Mica operates a business model focused on acquiring tenant-occupied condominium units for resale, renovating them after tenants move out, and then selling them. As of the end of the fiscal year ending November 2025, the company held approximately 4,000 condominium units, giving it one of the largest track records in Japan.

A large-scale redevelopment described as a “once-in-a-century” project is currently underway around Nakano Station. Although redevelopment plans for the new north exit area, including the former Nakano Sunplaza site, were revised due to rising construction costs, a new station building and north-south pedestrian passage are scheduled to open in 2026. In Nakano 2-chome, Nakano Station Residence (396 units), developed by Sumitomo Realty & Development, was completed in February 2024, and a total of 11 urban development projects are underway across the broader area.(see related article:Tokyo Gas Real Estate Completes Latierra Nakano Arai Rental Apartment
