JR Shikoku Acquires Newly Built Rental Apartment “J. Rivière Chitose-Karasuyama” in Tokyo

Shikoku Railway Company (JR Shikoku) has acquired a newly built rental apartment property, “J. Rivière Chitose-Karasuyama,” located in Setagaya Ward, Tokyo, and commenced operations on December 22, 2025. The acquisition marks the company’s fifth income-producing property in the Greater Tokyo area and its first newly constructed asset in the region. The property is part of the “GranDuo” series developed by Face Network Co., Ltd.

The property is located a nine-minute walk from Chitose-Karasuyama Station on the Keio Line, passing through a lively shopping street before reaching a quiet residential neighborhood. Chitose-Karasuyama is a limited express stop, offering convenient access to central Tokyo. The building is a five-story reinforced concrete structure with 22 residential units, offering layouts ranging from 1K to 2LDK (approximately 24.91–59.97 sq. m / approx. 268–646 sq. ft.), catering to a wide range of tenants from singles to families. Landscaping is incorporated throughout the exterior and building design, with a park-like open space created at the center of the site.

The seller, FaithNetwork Co., Ltd., is a Tokyo Stock Exchange Standard Market-listed real estate company that has developed more than 300 newly built, single-building reinforced concrete apartment properties, primarily in Tokyo’s southern wards of Setagaya, Meguro, and Shibuya. The company ranks No. 1 in the number of completed residential buildings in this area and operates under an integrated development model encompassing land acquisition, design, construction, and property management.

JR Shikoku has positioned the expansion of non-railway revenues as a key pillar of its “Long-Term Management Vision 2030.” As part of this strategy, the company launched its rental residential brand “J. Rivière” in the Greater Tokyo area in May 2024. Following acquisitions in Gakugei-Daigaku, Musashi-Koyama, and Ueno-Iriya, this transaction represents the fifth property in the series.
