Mitsubishi Corporation Urban Development and Okumura Corporation announced on September 22, 2025, that they have broken ground on the retail component of the “(Tentative Name) Hirano-ku, Osaka Mixed-Use Development Project.” The development, built on leased land owned by Okumura Corporation, will include both retail and logistics facilities, with completion scheduled for winter 2027. 

The site is located a two-minute walk from JR Kansai Main Line’s Hirano Station, along a neighborhood thoroughfare. The four-story retail facility will cover a site area of approximately 2,497 tsubo (approx. 82,500 sq. ft.) with a gross floor area of roughly 6,241 tsubo (approx. 206,200 sq. ft.), and is expected to house a supermarket, an electronics retailer, and other tenants.
