SOMPO Holdings to Relocate Part of HQ Functions to Toranomon Alcea Tower
In June 2025, SOMPO Holdings announced that it will relocate part of its group headquarters functions to the newly built Toranomon Alcea Tower in Minato-ku, Tokyo. The move will involve approximately 700 employees from the corporate divisions of both SOMPO Holdings and Sompo Japan Insurance, currently based at the company’s headquarters in Shinjuku.
Toranomon Alcea Tower was completed in February 2025 and offers direct deck-level access to Toranomon Hills Station on the Tokyo Metro Hibiya Line. It is also a three-minute walk from Toranomon Station on the Ginza Line, making it a highly accessible location. The tower is just an eight-minute walk from SOMPO Group’s wellness hub in the Kasumigaseki Building, supporting seamless collaboration across key locations. SOMPO plans to lease approximately 2,000 tsubo (approx. 66,115 sq. ft.) across the 25th and 26th floors of the building.
The relocation aims to enhance synergy between the corporate teams of SOMPO Holdings and Sompo Japan by co-locating their functions. It also supports the promotion of hybrid work, embracing greater flexibility and diversity in work styles. The new office will feature layouts and shared spaces designed to foster in-person communication and collaboration among employees.
SOMPO Group will continue to utilize its current Shinjuku headquarters while advancing a broader headquarters optimization strategy to support the group’s sustainable growth.
