AD Works Acquires Office Building in Osaka’s Chuo Ward
AD Works acquired Shionogi Doshomachi Building, an office property at 4-chome Doshomachi in Osaka’s Chuo Ward, in February 2026. The seller was Shionogi & Co.
The property was completed in November 1990. It is located a three-minute walk from Higobashi Station on the Osaka Metro Yotsubashi Line and a four-minute walk from Yodoyabashi Station on the Osaka Metro Midosuji Line, near Midosuji. The building has eight above-ground floors and one basement level, with a typical floor plate of about 95 tsubo (approx. 10,390 sq. ft.).
Seller Shionogi relocated its headquarters functions in November 2025 from Doshomachi to Grand Green Osaka in Osaka Umeda, consolidating headquarters functions that had been spread across multiple locations. After the relocation, Grand Green Osaka became its global headquarters, while its Osaka main office remains in 3-chome Doshomachi. The sale appears to be part of the company’s effort to dispose of owned real estate assets in connection with the reorganization of its group locations.
AD Works acquired a rental apartment property in Uchinommachi, Chuo Ward, Osaka, in April 2026 (related article: A.D.Works Group Acquires Rental Apartment Building in Uchihommachi, Osaka). The latest acquisition is also believed to have been made with the expectation of repositioning and operating the property as income-producing real estate.
