SQUEEZE To Convert Rental Housing in Asakusa Into Hotel

SQUEEZE will open “Minn Oku-Asakusa,” an apartment hotel in Asakusa 3-chome, Taito Ward, Tokyo, on June 1, 2026. The company will convert a building developed as rental housing into lodging accommodations, aiming to maximize real estate income by capturing tourism demand.

The former property is a nine-story apartment building completed in October 2024 and previously owned by Sumitomo Corp. In February 2025, the beneficiary was changed to Asakusa Property LLC, and in April 2026 the building’s use was changed to a hotel. After renovation, the property will have 40 rooms, with guestroom sizes ranging from 25 to 45 square meters (approx. 269 to 484 sq. ft.). The hotel will offer four room types accommodating up to nine guests, targeting demand from families and groups. The property is located in the Oku-Asakusa area north of Sensoji Temple, a seven-minute walk from Asakusa Station on the Tsukuba Express and a 10-minute walk from Asakusa Station on the Tobu Skytree Line.

Oku-Asakusa retains the history of its traditional entertainment district as well as old-style restaurants and long-established coffee shops, offering a calm stay environment while remaining close to tourist destinations. According to Taito Ward’s 2024 tourism statistics, the ward drew 41.21 million tourists that year, including 6.4 million foreign visitors, with the number of foreign tourists up 45.0% year over year. With tourism demand, including inbound travel, recovering, the area around Asakusa is expected to attract lodging demand.

SQUEEZE provides hotel planning and operations, BPO services and AI-enabled lodging operations support, centered on “suitebook,” its AX platform for lodging facilities. The company listed on the Tokyo Stock Exchange Growth Market in April 2026. As of the end of December 2025, hotels supported by the company totaled 21,351 rooms, representing a domestic market share of about 1.2%. The company also operates its own hotel brands, including “Minn” and “Theatel,” under management contracts, with 40 properties in Japan as of the end of December 2025. This project is also part of that brand portfolio. SQUEEZE will apply knowledge gained through PoCs at its self-operated hotels to external facilities and advance cloud-based hotel operations that combine on-site operating expertise with AI and technology.
