JR West Properties and La Atre Open Apartment Hotel in Shibuya's Maruyamacho

VADE HOTEL SHIBUYA, an apartment hotel jointly developed by JR West Properties and La Atre, a subsidiary of LA Holdings, in Maruyamacho, Shibuya-ku, Tokyo, opened on October 1, 2026. It is the first joint project between the two companies, and matsuri technologies handles operations. It is the first property under the VADE HOTEL brand.

The hotel is a two-minute walk from Shinsen Station on the Keio Inokashira Line and an eight-minute walk from Shibuya Station. The seven-story building has 74 guest rooms. It was planned as an apartment hotel with rooms and facilities suited to long stays, mainly targeting families and groups of foreign visitors.

All rooms are apartment-type units that can accommodate four or more guests and are equipped with kitchens, washing machines and separate bathrooms. On the operational side, the hotel has introduced smart locks and tablets for advance check-in to reduce staffing needs, enabling it to be run by a small team.

LA Holdings positions apartment hotels as a new growth area, citing not only growing inbound demand but also the ability to flexibly revise room rates in line with price trends and the profitability expected from efficient operations. It plans to continue developing apartment hotels mainly in central Tokyo areas such as Shibuya, Shinjuku and Ginza, including through joint projects with major companies. In March 2026, La Atre signed agreements to acquire development sites for apartment hotels in Shinjuku Ward, Tokyo, and Chuo Ward, Sapporo.
