Toda Corp. Acquires “Tokyo Kensetsu Kaikan” Office Building in Hatchobori

Toda Corp. has acquired “Tokyo Kensetsu Kaikan,” an office building located in Hatchobori 2-chome, Chuo Ward, Tokyo. The property is home to major construction-industry organizations, including the Japan Federation of Construction Contractors, the Tokyo Construction Industry Association, and the National Federation of Construction Contractors.

Previously, Tokyo Kensetsu Kaikan Co., Ltd. and East Japan Construction Guarantee Co., Ltd. each owned separate condominium (exclusive) portions of the building. Tokyo Kensetsu Kaikan Co., Ltd. consolidated the two portions and sold them to Toda, resulting in Toda’s ownership of the entire building.

The building is an 8-story office with two basement levels, built with steel-reinforced concrete (SRC), and was completed in November 1962. Gross Floor Area is approximately 2,993 tsubo (approx. 106,500 sq. ft.). Although the asset is more than 60 years old, seismic retrofitting and renewal work have already been completed, and the building has two elevators. The property is a five-minute walk from both Hatchobori Station (Tokyo Metro Hibiya Line) and Takaracho Station (Toei Asakusa Line).

Toda is a leading mid-tier general contractor, with consolidated revenue of JPY 522.4 billion and approximately 5,500 employees. In November 2024, the company opened its new headquarters, “TODA BUILDING,” in Kyobashi 1-chome and consolidated its HQ functions there. “Tokyo Kensetsu Kaikan” is within walking distance of the new headquarters, and—given its tenant roster of core industry organizations—will serve as a key touchpoint for Toda within the construction industry.
