GLP Japan, GION to Develop 40,838-Tsubo Logistics Facility in Sagamihara

GLP Japan and GION Co., Ltd., a logistics company headquartered in Sagamihara, will jointly develop Marq Sagamihara, a multi-tenant logistics facility, in Shin-Isono, Minami Ward, Sagamihara City, Kanagawa Prefecture. A joint venture led by GION, together with GLP Japan, will undertake the project, with construction scheduled to start in January 2027 and completion planned for March 2029.

The project site is located within the area of the Sagamihara City Planning Project's Asamizodai and Shin-Isono No. 1 Development District Land Readjustment Project, administered by Sagamihara City. It is approximately 3 km from the Sagamihara-Aikawa IC on the Ken-O Expressway and is surrounded by National Routes 129, 16, and 246, offering excellent access to major arterial roads.

The building will have five above-ground floors, with a Gross Floor Area of approximately 40,838 tsubo (approx. 1,453,100 sq. ft.). It will feature double ramp-ways and a central truck court, accommodating up to 30 tenant companies. Floors 1 and 2 will house large-scale frozen and chilled warehouse units, supporting three temperature zones: frozen, chilled, and ambient. In addition to 37 truck waiting spaces, the facility will provide approximately 300 parking spaces for passenger vehicles and approximately 300 bicycle parking spaces. A park space with green areas that local residents can also use will be provided, reflecting consideration for coexistence with the community and for employees' working environment.

GLP Japan operates ALFALINK Sagamihara in Sagamihara City, comprising four buildings with a total Gross Floor Area of approximately 204,000 tsubo. GLP Japan and GION built their relationship after GION became a tenant at ALFALINK Sagamihara, and in 2023 the two companies, together with Sagamihara City, signed a basic agreement concerning this project.
