GLP Breaks Ground on “GLP Yachiyo VI,” Multi-Tenant Logistics Facility in Chiba
On July 3, GLP Japan commenced construction on “GLP Yachiyo VI,” a multi-tenant logistics facility located in the Yoshihashi Industrial Park in Yachiyo City, Chiba Prefecture. Scheduled for completion at the end of December 2026, this marks the developer’s sixth project in Yachiyo.
Situated approximately 11 km from the Chiba-Kita IC on the Higashi-Kanto Expressway and 10 km from the Hanawa IC on the Keiyo Road, the property offers excellent access to both regional distribution within Chiba and wider metropolitan Tokyo. It is also within a 15-minute walk from Yachiyo-Midorigaoka Station on the Toyo Rapid Railway, with nearby residential areas providing a favorable labor pool.
The four-story, seismic-resistant steel structure will accommodate up to five tenants. Leases will be available from a minimum unit size of approximately 2,300 tsubo (approx. 82,000 sq. ft.). The facility will feature over 100 parking spaces and approximately 968 tsubo (approx. 34,000 sq. ft.) of landscaped green space. Rooftop solar panels will be installed, and the development aims to achieve ZEB Ready and CASBEE certifications.
Tenants will benefit from access to GLP’s in-house concierge service, which offers one-stop logistics support, and to RaaS (Robotics as a Service) solutions from GLP group company Plus Automation—enabling low-cost automation and operational efficiency.
This project follows GLP’s recent groundbreaking on a fully refrigerated facility “GLP Nanko II” in Osaka Bay, and the completion of “GLP Sakai-Koga I” in Ibaraki Prefecture. The company is also planning “GLP Itabashi,” a last-mile logistics center for Sagawa Express in Tokyo. These developments reflect GLP’s strategy to expand a diversified pipeline of cold storage and urban logistics assets that meet increasingly complex customer demands.
