FHG HOTELS to Open BASE LAYER HOTEL _ UNION in Nagoya's Sakae District
FHG HOTELS (fav hospitality group Co., Ltd.), a subsidiary of Kasumigaseki Capital, will open BASE LAYER HOTEL _ UNION NAGOYA SAKAE in Nishiki 3-chome, Naka-ku, Nagoya, on January 9, 2027. FHG HOTELS serves as the project owner, GREENING handles planning, development and production, and ON THE PAGE will run the hotel.
The hotel is a five-minute walk from both Sakae Station on the Higashiyama Subway Line and Hisaya-odori Station on the Sakura-dori Subway Line. Its 86 guest rooms span seven types, ranging from rooms of approximately 14 sq. m (approx. 150 sq. ft.) designed for single occupancy to premium twins of approximately 43 sq. m (approx. 460 sq. ft.) and suites equipped with private saunas.
Among the shared facilities, the spa is one of the largest in the BASE LAYER HOTEL series and will be open to members as well as overnight guests. The hotel will also house Flairge SAKAE, a wedding venue with a chapel and banquet rooms that can host weddings and corporate events.
BASE LAYER HOTEL launched with the Nagoya Nishiki property in July 2025 and has since expanded to Fukuoka, Kobe, Roppongi and other locations (see related article: BASE LAYER HOTEL NAGOYA NISHIKI Opens as Culture-Oriented Business Hotel). This property is the first under _ UNION, a spin-off brand of BASE LAYER HOTEL, pairing guest rooms with dining, wellness, and wedding and banquet functions. FHG HOTELS operates 22 properties nationwide across BASE LAYER HOTEL and its other brands, and plans to open at least about 30 more by the end of 2028.
