Amazon Opens New Office on Floors 34-44 of Azabudai Hills
Amazon Japan and Amazon Web Services Japan opened a new office on floors 34 through 44 of Azabudai Hills Mori JP Tower in Minato Ward, Tokyo, on May 18, 2026. AWS Japan teams began moving in the same day, and multiple Amazon Japan teams will also relocate there during 2026.
Amazon Japan launched its service in Japan in 2000, and AWS Japan opened the Asia Pacific (Tokyo) Region, a group of data centers, in 2011. In Tokyo, the companies have previously had offices in Meguro and Shinagawa, but their headcount in Japan exceeded 15,000 employees as of 2025. The new office opening is part of an expansion of office functions accompanying the growth of the companies’ domestic business. The existing Meguro and Shinagawa offices will also continue workplace transformation as part of the expansion.
Azabudai Hills Mori JP Tower, where the new office is located, is an approximately 330-meter-tall skyscraper whose office floors have increasingly attracted technology companies and research and development bases. Recent moves include AI inside to the 48th floor, Knowledge Work’s headquarters to the 51st floor and Mazda R&D Center Tokyo to the 49th floor.
