Yodoyabashi Gate Tower Completed, Set to Anchor Osaka’s Midosuji Gateway

“Yodoyabashi Gate Tower,” a large-scale mixed-use development in which Sumitomo Corporation, Daiwa House Industry Co., Ltd., and Kanden Realty & Development Co., Ltd. participated as redevelopment association members, was completed on December 15, 2025. Office tenants are scheduled to begin moving in from spring 2026, while the retail floors are slated for a grand opening in July 2026.
The project is a 29-story, two-basement mixed-use tower with a height of 135 meters. The site area is approximately 2,180 tsubo (approx. 77,600 sq. ft.), and the Gross Floor Area totals approximately 40,049 tsubo (approx. 1,425,000 sq. ft.). Architectural design and supervision were handled by NIKKEN SEKKEI LTD, with construction undertaken by Obayashi Corporation. The building is expected to obtain LEED Gold certification, an internationally recognized standard for environmental performance.
Directly connected underground to Yodoyabashi Station on the Osaka Metro Midosuji Line and the Keihan Main Line, the tower occupies a prime location at the gateway to Midosuji Avenue and adjacent to the Nakanoshima district. Plans also include the development of Okawamachi Park, creating a new waterfront open space and contributing to urban regeneration and placemaking in the Yodoyabashi area.
Across Midosuji Avenue, Yodoyabashi Station One, developed by Chuo-Nittochi Co., Ltd. and Keihan Holdings Co., Ltd., was completed in May 2025. Together, the two towers form a symbolic twin-tower gateway marking the entrance to Midosuji.
