Kasumigaseki Capital Co., Ltd. Launches Logistics Business in Malaysia with First Cold Storage Project in Klang

Kasumigaseki Capital Co., Ltd. announced on September 1, 2025, that it has launched a logistics business in Malaysia, establishing a local subsidiary and starting development of its first ASEAN project, the “Setia Alaman” automated cold storage warehouse in Klang, Selangor. The company has signed a land purchase agreement with a major developer that is a wholly owned subsidiary of a publicly listed company on the Main Market of Bursa Malaysia.
The first project site is located in Klang, Selangor, about 37 kilometers from central Kuala Lumpur, near the NKVE “Bandar Bukit Raja” interchange. The facility is planned on a site of approximately 3,709 tsubo (approx. 132,000 sq. ft.), with a gross floor area of about 3,465 tsubo (approx. 124,000 sq. ft.). Construction is scheduled to begin in October 2026 and be completed in December 2028.
The company cited Malaysia’s role as a logistics hub in Southeast Asia, alongside income growth-driven expansion of e-commerce and increasing exports of halal products, as the rationale for its expansion.
Kasumigaseki Capital Co., Ltd. plans to leverage its expertise in cold storage and automation cultivated in Japan to develop facilities addressing industry challenges such as compliance with 2030 refrigerant regulations, labor shortages, and harsh working conditions.
