Terra Drone Relocates Headquarters to A-PLACE Shibuya Nanpeidai Amid Business Expansion
Drone and Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) solutions provider Terra Drone Corp. has relocated its headquarters to A-PLACE Shibuya Nanpeidai in Tokyo’s Shibuya Ward in late June 2025. The move is aimed at supporting the company's continued expansion.
Founded just nine years ago, Terra Drone has grown its consolidated workforce to approximately 620 employees. In 2024, the company ranked first in the global drone service provider rankings published by Drone Industry Insights. By consolidating its development and sales operations on a single dedicated floor, the firm seeks to enhance interdepartmental collaboration and reinforce its multi-business operation model.
The new office, A-PLACE Shibuya Nanpeidai, is a seven-minute walk from Shibuya Station and is designed to meet the security and scalability needs of rapidly growing startups. Terra Drone’s former headquarters at Tokyo Tatemono International Building is part of the Shibuya 2-Chome West District Type 1 Urban Redevelopment Project and is scheduled for demolition.
Terra Drone raised USD 70 million (approx. JPY 8.0 billion) in its Series B round in March 2022, followed by an additional USD 14 million (approx. JPY 1.82 billion) from Wa’ed Ventures (a Saudi Aramco-backed fund) in January 2023. The company’s total fundraising now stands at around USD 98 million (approx. JPY 12.7 billion). These funds are being used to accelerate the development of Urban Traffic Management (UTM) systems for flying cars, support overseas M&A activities, and expand R&D hubs.
Following its listing on the Tokyo Stock Exchange Growth Market on November 29, 2024, Terra Drone has further solidified its capital base. The headquarters relocation is also positioned as a strategic move to strengthen global collaboration.
With the business scaling rapidly, demand has grown for interdepartmental information sharing and customer-facing demo spaces—particularly in projects involving UTM development and coordination with overseas subsidiaries. The move to a dedicated floor allows for flexible layout configurations, enabling the company to enhance security, optimize workflows, and function as a hub for hybrid work connecting domestic and international sites.
