Japan Display to Relocate Headquarters From Nishi-Shimbashi to Tennozu
Japan Display will relocate its headquarters on May 7, 2026, from Landic 2nd Shimbashi Building in Nishi-Shimbashi, Minato Ward, Tokyo, to the 22nd floor of Sphere Tower Tennozu in Higashi-Shinagawa, Shinagawa Ward. The move is necessary because the current headquarters building is scheduled to be rebuilt by its owner, making continued occupancy difficult. Japan Display is a Tokyo Stock Exchange Prime-listed maker of small- and medium-sized displays, and its subsidiary JDI Design and Development LLC, which is currently housed at the same location, will relocate at the same time.
The new headquarters, Sphere Tower Tennozu, is a large office building completed in April 1993, with 28 above-ground floors and two basement levels and a Gross Floor Area of approximately 13,151 tsubo (approx. 467,650 sq. ft.). Typical floor plates are about 300 tsubo (approx. 10,671 sq. ft.) on odd-numbered floors and about 250 tsubo (approx. 8,893 sq. ft.) on even-numbered floors, with a ceiling height of 2,650 mm. The building is a five-minute walk from Tennozu Isle Station on the Rinkai Line. The company will consolidate its headquarters functions and subsidiary operations on a single floor, the 22nd floor.
The current headquarters building, Landic 2nd Shimbashi Building, was completed in December 1978 and is a 10-story office building with a Gross Floor Area of approximately 2,598 tsubo (approx. 92,463 sq. ft.). It is owned by NTT UD REIT Investment Corp. Having been in service for 47 years, the property is also drawing attention as a potential redevelopment project within the REIT’s portfolio.
