Prologis Breaks Ground on Tokai Logistics Facility

Prologis Breaks Ground on Tokai Logistics Facility

Prologis held a groundbreaking ceremony on August 27 for Prologis Park Tokai 1, a multi-tenant logistics facility located within the Tokai Otagawa Station West Land Readjustment Project area in Tokai City, Aichi Prefecture.

The property is approximately 4.3 kilometers from the Tokai Junction of the Isewangan Expressway and Nagoya Expressway Route 4 Tokai Line, and about 1.8 kilometers from the Kake Interchange of the Nishi-Chita Industrial Road. The facility will be a four-story building with a gross floor area of about 48,700 tsubo (approx. 161,000 sq. m). It will feature a double rampway system allowing large trucks to directly access each floor. The building can be divided into units ranging from as small as 800 tsubo (approx. 2,600 sq. m) up to a full floor of 10,000 tsubo (approx. 33,000 sq. m).

The company is also planning Prologis Park Tokai 2 on an adjacent site as a build-to-suit facility, with both developments positioned to capture demand from regional distribution as well as consumer and industrial clusters in the Nagoya metropolitan area.
