Mitsui Fudosan, Toyota Tsusho, and KDDI Break Ground on Nagoya Arena

Mitsui Fudosan, Toyota Tsusho, and KDDI broke ground on August 27 for the planned Nagoya Arena within the Minato AQULS complex in Nagoya’s Minato Ward. The multipurpose arena, designed to accommodate roughly 10,000 spectators, is slated for completion in fall 2027 and opening in early 2028.

The venue will serve as the home arena for the B.LEAGUE’s Fighting Eagles Nagoya beginning with the 2027–28 season, and is also expected to host concerts, exhibitions, and corporate events.

Located about an eight-minute walk from Minato Kuyakusho Station on the Nagoya Municipal Subway Meiko Line, the four-story, steel-frame facility will feature a gross floor area of approximately 27,500 square meters (approx. 296,000 sq. ft.). The project aims to integrate seamlessly with the adjacent LaLaport Nagoya Minato AQULS retail complex and multipurpose hall, enhancing visitor circulation and creating a unified entertainment and retail experience designed to maximize dwell time.

Mitsui Fudosan is positioning the development as part of its long-term “&INNOVATION 2030” strategy to expand into new asset classes, following Tokyo Dome and LaLa arena TOKYO-BAY, and to strengthen its Sports & Entertainment platform in the Chubu region. Toyota Tsusho is leveraging its ownership of the FE Nagoya basketball club to drive local engagement, while KDDI will provide communications and digital technologies to elevate the visitor experience. Together, the three companies aim to advance public-private urban development in the area.
