46-Story Mixed-Use Tower with 643 Units Breaks Ground in Akasaka 7-Chome, by Nippon Steel Kowa and Nomura Real Estate

On June 1, 2025, Nippon Steel Kowa Real Estate and Nomura Real Estate Development broke ground on the “Akasaka 7-Chome 2-Ban District Type-1 Urban Redevelopment Project.” The project marks the culmination of more than 15 years of planning, beginning with the establishment of a community development council in 2010, and involved extensive coordination between landowners, government agencies, and project partners.
The redevelopment will reorganize a 1.2-hectare block previously occupied by aging housing stock. Anchored by a 46-story mixed-use tower, the large-scale project will provide both residential and commercial functions in central Tokyo. The site is located within walking distance of multiple stations, including Aoyama-itchome Station on the Tokyo Metro Ginza and Hanzomon Lines, and the Toei Oedo Line, as well as Akasaka and Akasaka-mitsuke Stations.
The tower will stand approximately 157 meters tall and include a total of 643 residential units. In addition to housing, the building will incorporate office space, a vocational school, and retail facilities. Taking advantage of its location adjacent to the Akasaka Imperial Grounds, the project is designed to offer both urban convenience and a quality living environment.
While large-scale condominium developments by Nippon Steel Kowa (such as Livio Tower Shinagawa) and Nomura Real Estate (such as BLUE FRONT SHIBAURA〈TOWER N〉) are planned in the coastal Kaigan and Shibaura areas of Minato Ward, new condominium supply in the Akasaka area remains scarce. Given the rarity of the location, the project is expected to attract strong interest not only from first-time domestic buyers but also from overseas investors.
