Fukuoka Jisho Completes Large-Scale Mixed-Use Building in Tenjin Big Bang Project

Fukuoka Jisho Co., Ltd. and Tenjin 1-chome 761 Project GK have completed "Tenjin Business Center II," a large-scale mixed-use building developed within the "Tenjin Big Bang" redevelopment area, with completion taking place on June 30, 2026. The building is scheduled to open on August 4, 2026. Tenjin 1-chome 761 Project GK is a special purpose company (SPC) composed of Fukuoka Jisho, Kyushu Electric Power Co., Inc., and KRAFTIA CORPORATION.

The property is directly connected to multiple stations including Tenjin Station, and was developed as part of a project to redevelop the former site of the Fukuoka City Hall North Annex. The building rises 18 stories above ground and 2 stories below ground, with a standard floor plate of approximately 785 tsubo (approx. 27,900 sq. ft.). The building centers on "Accelerarium," a seven-level atrium space spanning the second basement level to the fifth floor above ground, and includes a commercial zone, a shared workers-only space of approximately 1,300 tsubo (approx. 46,300 sq. ft.), and "Fukuoka Innovation Lab. Tenjin," an incubation facility for the deep-tech field scheduled to open in September 2026. Office floors on the 6th through 18th floors can be subdivided into units as small as 43 tsubo (approx. 1,500 sq. ft.), with some floors offered as set-up offices.

Tenjin Big Bang, launched by Fukuoka City in February 2015, has now seen seven of the eight properties certified for the Tenjin Big Bang Bonus completed with this building's completion. The only remaining property is the "(tentative name) Tenjin 1-7 Project," being developed by Mitsubishi Estate Co., Ltd. The company revised the project's completion schedule in December 2025, pushing it back from the end of December 2026 to the end of May 2027, meaning the completion of all eight certified properties is now expected to slip into 2027.

Meanwhile, consideration is underway for new Tenjin Big Bang Bonus certifications for the Tenjin 2-chome South Block Station-front East-West District, the phased sequential redevelopment of the Fukuoka Central Post Office and AEON Shoppers Fukuoka, and the Tenjin 1-chome 15/16 District. As the large-scale developments that led the way approach their final stages, the next round of redevelopment projects in the Tenjin area is also taking shape.
