Tokyo Tatemono To Open Meiji Park Near Hakata Station

A consortium led by Tokyo Tatemono will open Meiji Park, which is being redeveloped in the Hakata Station area of Fukuoka City, on Aug. 7, 2026. The plan includes creating green space by elevating park pathways and developing a four-story retail building. Seven tenants have been confirmed, including TOTOPA, an urban spa facility operated by Tokyo Tatemono that will be opening its first location in Kyushu.
The project uses Park-PFI, a public offering system for the installation and management of park facilities under Japan’s Urban Parks Act. Under the framework, private-sector operators responsible for park development, management and operations are selected through a public offering process. The operators install and operate revenue-generating facilities such as restaurants, and use a portion of the revenue to fund park improvements. The system is designed to enhance the appeal of parks while limiting the financial burden on local governments.
Meiji Park is located within the target area of Hakata Connected, a public-private redevelopment initiative underway around Hakata Station. In the surrounding area, office and retail functions are being renewed with support measures including floor-area ratio incentives and municipal promotional support. Tokyo Tatemono is also planning to complete T-PLUS Hakata Ekimae in the area, and through both park development and office development, the company aims to enhance pedestrian circulation and create more places for people to spend time in front of Hakata Station.(see related article:Tokyo Tatemono Breaks Ground on First T-PLUS Office in Kyushu with "T-PLUS Hakata Ekimae")
Tokyo Tatemono has developed projects in the Kyushu area, including the T-LOGI Fukuoka Island City logistics facility. In Park-PFI projects, it has also participated in Tokyo Metropolitan Meiji Park, which spans Shinjuku and Shibuya wards in Tokyo. This project represents an effort to apply the park development, management and operations expertise the company has built to the use of public space in front of Hakata Station.
