Nomura Real Estate Development and Nomura Real Estate Wellness announced on October 15, 2025, the groundbreaking of a senior rental residence on the former site of the University of Tokyo’s Nishi-Chiba Campus. The project marks the 10th property in the company’s “Oukas” series of senior residences and the fourth in Chiba Prefecture. The opening is scheduled for April 2027.

Located a 7-minute walk from JR Sobu Line’s Nishi-Chiba Station, the development is part of a 75,000-square-meter district plan that will include approximately 1,300 residential units, along with retail, nursing care, and student-oriented facilities. The six-story building will have a gross floor area of approximately 7,929.61 square meters (approx. 85,340 sq. ft.) and a total of 110 units. Common amenities will include a lounge and library, dining room, fitness studio, and a large communal bath with an artificial hot spring.
