Sumitomo Forestry, Kumagai Gumi, and Fuyo General Lease to Jointly Develop Bellevue Multifamily Project With Trammell Crow Residential

Sumitomo Forestry, Kumagai Gumi, and Fuyo General Lease announced on Sept. 5, 2025, that they will jointly develop a rental multifamily project, Alexan Eastgate, with U.S. developer Trammell Crow Residential (TCR) in Bellevue, Washington.

The property will rise in Bellevue’s Eastgate district, about a 25-minute drive from Seattle-Tacoma International Airport and 15 minutes from downtown Seattle. Located adjacent to a major bus terminal, the site offers strong access to key employment hubs including Amazon and Microsoft. The project will deliver 388 units across eight stories. Construction is slated to begin in September 2025, with completion and lease-up scheduled for December 2028.

The scheme will be advanced by a special purpose company funded by a joint venture of Sumitomo Forestry’s wholly owned subsidiary SFA MF Holdings, Kumagai Gumi, and Fuyo General Lease (USA) Inc., together with TCR. Sumitomo Forestry Asset Management will serve as asset manager. This marks the eighth collaboration between Sumitomo Forestry and TCR.
