Nomura Real Estate Development to Open “Oukas Leaf City Ichikawa,” a Health-Promoting Senior Rental Residence, on November 1, 2025
Nomura Real Estate Development will open Oukas Leaf City Ichikawa, a wellness-focused senior rental residence with 181 units, on November 1, 2025. The property is located within Leaf City Ichikawa, a large-scale mixed-use redevelopment on the former site of the Keiyo Gas Ichikawa Plant.
The 10-story reinforced concrete building has a gross floor area of 10,800.64 square meters (approx. 116,000 sq. ft.) and is an eight-minute walk from JR Ichikawa Station on the Sobu Line. Units range from studios to two-bedroom apartments (2LDK), and the property will highlight its panoramic views across the Edogawa River toward central Tokyo.
This will be the first “Oukas” property to feature an on-site clinic and a facial recognition system for shared facilities. The building will house Wakasa Clinic (operated by Genkikai Medical Corporation) and a home care support office, integrating medical and caregiving functions. In addition to the brand’s existing focus on exercise, nutrition, community, and medical-care collaboration, the new facility will offer daily medical consultations and caregiving support, with plans to engage with the broader local community.
The “Oukas” brand was launched in 2017 and currently operates six facilities across the Tokyo metropolitan area. The Ichikawa property marks the first opening since Oukas Setagaya Sengawa in August 2023.
