Sumitomo Forestry Launches Large-Scale Residential Development Near Jakarta in Joint Venture with Sinar Mas Land

On August 6, Sumitomo Forestry announced that it has commenced development in collaboration with Indonesian real estate giant Sinar Mas Land in Gunung Putri, Bogor Regency, near Jakarta. The project will be led by a joint venture company, PT. Kurnia Sinergi Mas, established by a Sumitomo Forestry subsidiary and an affiliate of Sinar Mas Land.

The planned development site spans approximately 473,412 tsubo (approx. 1.56 million sq. ft.) adjacent to the large-scale urban township "Kota Wisata." The project will supply approximately 4,100 housing units in phases, including about 3,800 detached homes and 300 shop houses. The total project cost is expected to reach JPY 137 billion, with sales to begin within the year and full delivery targeted by 2041. Located about 25 km southeast of central Jakarta, the project aims to enhance residential convenience by attracting commercial facilities, schools, and sports clubs. From an environmental perspective, certain structures will be built using timber, with plans to obtain EDGE green building certification.

Since entering the Indonesian market in 2017, Sumitomo Forestry has pursued five residential projects totaling approximately 2,100 planned units. This project will mark its largest development in the country to date.
