MITSUBISHI ESTATE CO., LTD. Completes Mixed-Use Tower in Nagoya’s Sakae District

MITSUBISHI ESTATE CO., LTD. Completes Mixed-Use Tower in Nagoya’s Sakae District

A five-company group comprising MITSUBISHI ESTATE CO., LTD., J. FRONT CITY DEVELOPMENT Co.,Ltd., JAPAN POST REAL ESTATE Co., Ltd., Meiji Yasuda Life Insurance Company, and Chunichi Shimbun Co., Ltd. will complete The Landmark Nagoya Sakae, a mixed-use development they have been advancing in Nishiki 3-chome, Naka Ward, Nagoya, on March 31, 2026. At approximately 211 meters tall, it will be the tallest building in the Sakae area. Its retail and cinema components are scheduled to open on June 11, 2026. The hotel opening date will be announced separately.

The property has 41 above-ground floors and four basement levels, with a gross floor area of approximately 33,200 tsubo (approx. 1,180,480 sq. ft.). The office component on floors 12 through 30—featuring a typical floor plate of approximately 480 tsubo (approx. 17,073 sq. ft.) and total leasable area of approximately 8,000 tsubo (approx. 284,000 sq. ft.)—had achieved an approximately 98% pre-leasing rate prior to completion. Floors 31 through 40 will house Conrad Nagoya, the first entry into the Tokai area by Hilton’s luxury brand, with a total of 170 guestrooms, including standard rooms of approximately 50 square meters. Basement floors 2 through 4 will contain the retail facility HAERA, while TOHO Cinemas, the first in the Sakae area, will open on floors 5 through 9.

With this opening, the Sakae area will see another large-scale office supply addition following the Chunichi Building in 2024, which offered a typical floor plate of approximately 700 tsubo. Nagoya’s office market has drawn attention for redevelopment around the Meieki area in anticipation of the Linear Chuo Shinkansen, but the Sakae area is also strengthening its presence as a business hub through mixed-use developments equipped with international-standard MICE functions and luxury hotels.
