Sumitomo Fudosan Villa Fontaine to Open Village Atami Resort Hotel
Sumitomo Fudosan Villa Fontaine Co., Ltd. will hold the grand opening of Village Atami, a resort hotel in Chuo-cho, Atami City, Shizuoka Prefecture, on August 1, 2026. This will be the third property under the company's "Village" resort hotel brand, following Izu Kogen and Kyoto, and the 23rd property overall across the hotel series it operates.
The property is located a 14-minute walk from JR "Atami" Station and a four-minute walk from Atami Sun Beach. It comprises 82 rooms in eight types, each with a balcony. The first-floor courtyard features a foot bath using natural hot spring water and a fire pit, while the top floor includes an open-air natural hot spring bath, a sauna, and a restaurant overlooking the sea.
The company opened a 745-room hotel within "Ariake Garden" in 2020, and in 2022 opened hotels totaling 1,691 rooms across two brands within "Haneda Airport Garden." The company positions the opening of these three hotels as its "second founding." From two brands, 17 hotels, and 2,762 rooms as of 2019, the company will expand to five brands, 23 hotels, and 5,465 rooms following the opening of this property. This move represents an expansion into the resort segment, in addition to its large-scale hotels in central Tokyo and directly connected to airports.
