Daiwa House Industry Starts Construction on Large-Scale Logistics Facility in Samukawa, Kanagawa Prefecture

Daiwa House Industry started construction on DPL Samukawa I, a multitenant logistics facility in Samukawa Town, Koza District, Kanagawa Prefecture, on June 1, 2026. Completion is scheduled for June 2028.

The facility will have four floors above ground and a Gross Floor Area of approximately 26,913 tsubo (approx. 957,600 sq. ft.), and will accommodate up to eight tenants. The project site is located about 0.5 kilometer from the Samukawa-minami interchange on the Ken-O Expressway and about 2.5 kilometers from the Chigasaki-chuo interchange on the Shin-Shonan Bypass, providing access for distribution across the Greater Tokyo area and to the Chubu region. The facility will use a double-rampway design that allows trucks to drive directly to each floor.

The company has been advancing large-scale logistics facility development in the Greater Tokyo area. In September 2025, it completed DPL Chiba Rail Gate, with a Gross Floor Area of 34,460 tsubo (approx. 1,226,000 sq. ft.), in Chiba City, and in April 2026, it completed DPL Tokyo Shinonome, with a Gross Floor Area of 45,517 tsubo (approx. 1,619,900 sq. ft.), in Koto Ward, Tokyo.(see related article:Daiwa House and JR Freight Complete Large-Scale Logistics Facility in Chiba, Daiwa House Industry Completes Urban Logistics Facility in Shinonome, Koto Ward; Yamato Transport to Occupy Building) In Kanagawa Prefecture, the company has also developed 30 logistics facilities with a combined Gross Floor Area of approximately 530,000 tsubo (approx. 18,859,000 sq. ft.), including the DPL Shin-Yokohama Project, a three-building project with a combined Gross Floor Area of 70,695 tsubo (approx. 2,515,900 sq. ft.). On an adjacent site, the company also plans to develop DPL Samukawa II, a multitenant logistics facility capable of refrigerated and frozen storage.
