KOBELCO Group Relocates Tokyo Headquarters to THE LINKPILLAR 2 in Takanawa Gateway City

The KOBELCO Group, including Kobe Steel, Ltd., relocated its Tokyo headquarters to THE LINKPILLAR 2 within TAKANAWA GATEWAY CITY on July 1, 2026, and began operations at the new office. The group moved from ON Building in Kita-Shinagawa, Shinagawa Ward, with 21 group companies now occupying the new location.

THE LINKPILLAR 2, the relocation destination, was completed in March 2026 and has a standard floor area of approximately 1,125 tsubo. The KOBELCO Group occupies floors 8 through 12 of the building. Under its medium-term management plan for FY2024–FY2026, the KOBELCO Group plans to invest approximately JPY 60 billion in human capital-related initiatives. This relocation is part of that effort, aimed at strengthening the group's headquarters functions and improving the employee experience. The new headquarters introduces Activity Based Working (ABW) and a fully free-address system. By consolidating group companies in the new Takanawa Gateway district, the group aims to foster collaboration across its diverse businesses and create new value.
