Sun Frontier Acquires Shibuya Office Building From Tokyu, Sells 30% Stake to ITOCHU

Sun Frontier Fudousan acquired MAC Shibuya Building, now named THE CROSS SHIBUYA, an office property in Nampeidaicho, Shibuya Ward, in March 2026. The seller was Tokyu Corporation. In June of the same year the company sold a 30/100 interest to ITOCHU Corporation, and the building is now jointly held by the two companies.

The property is a five-minute walk from Shinsen Station on the Keio Inokashira Line and an eight-minute walk from Shibuya Station, facing Tamagawa-dori. Completed in 1991, the 10-story building has a typical floor plate of approximately 25 tsubo (approx. 900 sq. ft.) and is leased as set-up office space.

The building was owned by an individual when it was completed. Ownership passed in 2005 to Risa Partners, which handles investment, lending and advisory work for companies and real estate, then to Japan Wealth Management in 2006, and from 2007 to Nisshinbo Urban Development, the real estate arm of the Nisshinbo group. Tokyu Corporation acquired it in March 2025, making for a holding period of about one year.

In April 2026, Sun Frontier Fudousan also acquired U-Biz Shibuya Dogenzaka in Dogenzaka 1-chome, on the block across Tamagawa-dori. Completed in 1987, that building has 10 floors above ground and one basement level, with a typical floor plate of approximately 14 tsubo (approx. 500 sq. ft.).

ITOCHU Corporation made Sun Frontier Fudousan an equity-method affiliate in April 2026. In May the two companies also jointly acquired an office and retail building in Shiba 2-chome, Minato Ward, with Sun Frontier Fudousan holding 70% and ITOCHU 30% (see related article: Sun Frontier and ITOCHU Jointly Acquire Office Building in Minato Ward's Shiba).
