Nomura Real Estate Completes Medical-Residential Tower in Front of Koriyama Station

Nomura Real Estate has completed the Koriyama Ekimae 1-Chome 2nd District Type 1 Urban Redevelopment Project, which it had been advancing together with the Yuasa Hoonkai Foundation and others. Located a three-minute walk from the west exit of Koriyama Station on the JR Tohoku Shinkansen and Tohoku Main Line, the project delivered Proud Tower Koriyama, a 21-story tower comprising medical facilities and 157 condominium units. Move-ins are scheduled to begin in March 2026.
The reinforced concrete building has a Gross Floor Area of approximately 6,292 tsubo (approx. 224,022 sq. ft.). Floors 1 through 3 are occupied by Jusen-do Clinic, including a dialysis center and health screening center, while floors 4 through 21 are for-sale residential units. Shared amenities include a two-story atrium lobby lounge and a sky lounge on the 20th floor.
The project was completed 20 years after its urban planning decision in 2006. It utilizes a location optimization plan based on the national government’s Compact Plus Network policy and serves as an early example of promoting downtown living in regional core cities through a mixed-use development that integrates medical facilities in anticipation of an aging society.
