Tokyo Electron Completes Integrated Production and Logistics Center in Iwate’s Esashi Frontier Park II

Tokyo Electron Technology Solutions has completed construction of its Tohoku Production and Logistics Center in Oshu City, Iwate Prefecture. Daiwa House Industry served as the design-build contractor. The facility combines semiconductor manufacturing equipment production and logistics warehouse functions, marking the Tokyo Electron Group’s first integrated hub of this kind.

The steel-frame building features a full seismic isolation structure, rising four stories with a Gross Floor Area of approx. 17,500 tsubo (approx. 57,900 sq. ft.). Construction began in 2024, and operations are scheduled to start in 2026. The seismic isolation system incorporates the “DKB Elastic Sliding Seismic Isolation Bearing,” developed by Daiwa House Industry.

By consolidating logistics warehouses previously dispersed across and outside the prefecture, the company aims to streamline production, shorten lead times, and address challenges such as labor shortages and BCP requirements in production and logistics operations. Future plans include deploying an automated warehouse utilizing multi-robot systems and unmanned guided vehicles for inter-process transport, enhancing end-to-end operational efficiency.

The site, Esashi Frontier Park II, is a newly developed industrial park within a growing cluster of semiconductor-related companies. Across the Tohoku region, industry–academia–government partnerships continue to expand as part of broader efforts to strengthen human resources and reinforce the semiconductor supply chain.
