Tokyu Land Completes 100% Renewable Energy Data Center in Ishikari

Tokyu Land Corporation has completed “Ishikari Renewable Energy Data Center No. 1,” which it had been developing in Ishikari, Hokkaido, on March 27, 2026. The facility was developed as a data center to be operated on 100% renewable energy, with Tokyu Land and Flower Communications providing project management services. Operations are scheduled to begin in part of the data halls in August 2026.
The facility has a Gross Floor Area of approximately 3,044 tsubo (approx. 108,328 sq. ft.), a power receiving capacity of 15,000 kVA and six sections. Under an onsite PPA business based on an agreement signed with Ishikari City in March 2024, the facility will receive renewable electricity directly through a private power line. Its solar power generation equipment uses a special vertical mounting system that enables high-efficiency power generation even in areas with heavy snowfall, and the project also expects higher output from the albedo effect during snow cover. In addition, the facility is scheduled to introduce a next-generation communications environment in August 2026 that will connect Ishikari with Otemachi, Tokyo, using the APN, or All-Photonics Network, under NTT East’s IOWN initiative.
Tokyu Land entered the data center business in 2022 as part of the expansion of its industrial real estate business. The company’s renewable energy business brand, “ReENE,” has 162 projects nationwide, including those under development, with rated capacity of 2,122 MW as of the end of December 2025. Tokyu Land is pursuing business development that combines renewable energy operations with data centers, which have large power requirements. Ishikari City was selected in the first round of the Ministry of the Environment’s Decarbonization Leading Areas program and is working to attract data centers and expand renewable energy supply in the Ishikari Bay New Port area.
