Mitsui Fudosan To Fully Renovate and Reopen Kyoto Gojo-Karasuma Hotel as Mitsui Garden Hotel
Mitsui Fudosan and Mitsui Fudosan Hotel Management announced on September 24, 2026, that they will open Mitsui Garden Hotel Kyoto Gojo in Shimogyo Ward, Kyoto, on March 20, 2027.
The Mitsui Fudosan Group will fully renovate sequence KYOTO GOJO, a lifestyle hotel it opened in 2020, and reopen it under a different brand. The current hotel is scheduled to close entirely following check-out on December 7, 2026.
The property is located along Karasuma-dori, a three-minute walk from Gojo Station on the Kyoto Municipal Subway Karasuma Line. The building has nine floors above ground and one below, with 207 guest rooms. Rooms range from 19.5 to 47.2 sq. m (approx. 200 to 500 sq. ft.), including eight Fourth rooms that can accommodate up to four guests.
The Mitsui Fudosan Group operates three brands of accommodation-focused hotels: Mitsui Garden Hotels, The Celestine Hotels and sequence. In this project, the property will switch from sequence, a next-generation lifestyle hotel brand with three properties, to Mitsui Garden Hotels, which has 34 properties in Japan and overseas.
