Kanden Realty & Development, Nankai Electric Railway, and Osaka Metro Announce Namba Redevelopment Featuring Hyatt Centric Hotel

Kanden Realty & Development, Nankai Electric Railway, and Osaka Metro have unveiled plans for a large-scale mixed-use redevelopment in Osaka’s Namba district, known as the Namba Sennichimae Redevelopment Project (tentative name). Construction is scheduled to begin in March 2027, with opening targeted for March 2031.
The project will bring the first Hyatt Centric-branded hotel to the Kansai region, featuring 267 guestrooms on the upper floors. The mid-level floors will house office space, while retail will occupy the basement and lower floors. Hotel operations will be managed by Kanden Amenix.
The site offers direct underground connections to both Nankai’s Namba Station and Osaka Metro’s Namba Station. The three developers aim to enhance pedestrian flow in the area under the concept of “Vertical Namba,” creating a new landmark integrated with Namba Square and Nansan-dori.
